  • 2/3 c
    shortening, butter flavor
  • 1 c
    white sugar
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 2 large
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 large
    apples cored, peeled, diced
  • 1/2 c
    chopped walnuts

  • 3 Tbsp
    butter, softened
  • 1 c
    powdered sugar
  • 2-3 Tbsp
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    maple extract

How to Make Apple Walnut Blondies with Maple Butter Glaze


  1. Preheat oven to 350*
  2. In a large bowl mix and cream together the sugars and the shortening. If you don' t have butter flavored shortening, you can add butter flavored extract. I recommend Crisco.
  3. Add eggs one at a time mixing well after each egg
  4. add baking powder, salt, vanilla and cinnamon
  5. Add flour a little at a time mixing well. Batter will be really thick kinda like dough
  6. fold in apples and walnuts
  7. spread into greased 8x11 baking dish
  8. Bake for approx. 25-30 mins until golden on top and it no longer looks wet.
  9. while blondies are baking, mix up the glaze. It should have the consistency of pancake batter.
  10. after blondies are done baking remove them from the oven , wait about 5 minutes then drizzle glaze over the blondies. Let cool about 15 mins, then cut and serve :)
