hershey cake
This recipe came from a very good family friend, and after eating it the very first time, I declared that she was from then on my official Birthday Cake baker. It became my go to pot luck dish and has always received rave reviews. I hope y'all like it, and let me know you think, and what topper you use.

Ingredients
- 1 stick land a lakes butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 - eggs separated
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 - 16-oz. can of hershey's syrup
How To Make hershey cake

Step 1Mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt

Step 2In a separate bowl cream together the butter and sugar. Add the egg yokes one at a time mixing well after each. Mix together with the flour mixture. Slowly add the syrup and beat until just blended

Step 3With clean beaters, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gently fold in the egg whites.

Step 4Pour into a greased and floured 9x13 pan and bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes

Step 5Let cool completely then frost with your favorite frosting. (I use Duncan Hines Chocolate Fudge, but a nice vanilla frosting works just as well and creates a nice contrast. To make it a little more elegant and different, I have also served it unfrosted and topped with cherry pie filling.
