1Grease the bottom of a 4-5 quart slow cooker or line with parchment paper. In a large mixing bowl, mix together 2 cups flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, and salt. Set aside. In a separate bowl,whisk together the powdered milk and hot water and add to the flour mixture. Add the oil and egg and beat with an electric mixer for 2 minutes.
2Fold in the cranberries and grated orange peel. If desired, add nuts and chocolate chips!
Add the remaining cup of flour and beat on low until well combined. Pour into prepared slow cooker. Cover and bake on high heat for 2-3 hours. Not all Crock Pots are the same, so after 2 hours check your bread for doneness.
3The bread should feel firm when you poke the top. NOTE: It will not be brown on top. That’s normal. Remove when done. Let the bread cool for approximately 10 minutes before turning out on a wire rack to cool completely. Serve with butter or cream cheese.
