What a delicious treat! These yummy brownies are packed with chocolate and mint flavor. I love the idea of changing out the color of the mint layer for different holidays. These would be great for Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, Christmas ... so many options.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Hershey syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • FILLING
  • 2 cups confectioners' powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • optional food coloring
  • FROSTING
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 6 tablespoons margarine

How To Make chocolate mint brownies

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix the first 8 ingredients using a blender.
  • Step 2
    Pour mixture into a 9x13" greased pan.
  • Step 3
    Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Cool.
  • Step 4
    Filling: Mix and spread over cooled brownies.
  • Step 5
    Frosting: Melt the chocolate chips and butter, mix well.
  • Step 6
    Pour over brownies and filling. Refrigerate.
