williamsburg rum butter sauce
I was given this recipe for the Rum butter sauce from a co-worker many years ago. A fiend of mine tried this and liked it. I hope you will too.

Ingredients
- - 1 cup brown sugar light/dark
- - 2 tbsp cornstarch
- - 1/2 cup butter
- - rind of 1 lemon plus 1/4 - 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- - 2 tbsp brandy
- - 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- - 1/2 cup of light rum
- - 2 tbsp dark rum,
- - mincemeat pie, pound cake or christmas pudding
How To Make williamsburg rum butter sauce

Step 1Blend sugar, and cornstarch together in 1 cup boiling water.

Step 2Cook stirring over medium heat until thickened

Step 3Add lemon rind, lemon juice, brandy, nutmeg , light and dark rum

Step 4Cook 2 minutes, Stir

Step 5Serve hot over mincemeat pie, pound cake or Christmas pudding

Step 6Makes 3 cups of sauce
