I cannot remember where I got this recipe but it is simple to make and incredibly delicious to eat! 2 bowls, a spoon, and a skillet. Easy as that!.
In the fall I make it for football parties at our house. We are Alabama and Auburn fans..YEP...a house divided!! BUT:
Add a sprinkle of powdered sugar or a scoop of vanilla ice cream to the "just outta the oven" brownie and you'll be a happy camper win or lose!! Well....at least your sweet tooth will be happy. ;-) ROLL TIDE!

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground cloves
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 2
    eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 3 Tbsp
    heavy cream
  • 1/2 c
    chopped pecans (optional)

How to Make Skillet Apple Brownie

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350*.
    Add 1 tablespoon of the butter to the skillet and put it in the oven while it is preheating.
    The butter will be browned and ready for the batter.
  2. In a large bowl whisk together, flour, sugars, salt, and spices.
  3. In a small bowl melt the remaining butter and let it cool a bit.
  4. When the butter has cooled down whisk in the heavy cream,eggs, and vanilla
  5. Toss apples and pecans(if desired) in the flour mixture
  6. Add the butter,egg and vanilla mixture to the flour mixture.
  7. Pour into the hot-buttered skillet
  8. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until a tester comes out clean.
