Ingredients

1 lblight brown sugar
-
1/2 lbmargarine or butter, softened
-
4 cflour
-
2 cturkey golden table syrup
-
2 cboiling water
-
2 tspbaking soda
-
1 tspsalt
How to Make Shoo Fly Cake
- Mix first 3 ingredients into small crumbs, reserving 2 cups for the top.
- Tightly press the remainder into the bottom of a sprayed 13x9 pan.
- Stir together the syrup, water, baking soda and salt. Pour onto the crumb layer.
- Top with the reserved crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until tops springs back like a regular cake.
