Ingredients
- CAKE
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1/2 cup crisco shortening
- 5 tablespoons cocoa, unsweetened
- 1 cup water
- 2 - eggs
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- pinch - salt
- ICING
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 5 tablespoons cocoa, unsweetened
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 pound 10x sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 cup coconut
How To Make scotch cake

Step 1Sift flour and sugar in a large bowl.

Step 2In a saucepan, bring margarine, shortening, water, and cocoa to a good boil.

Step 3Pour over flour and sugar mixture.

Step 4Add remaining ingredients and mix well.

Step 5Pour into a greased 13x9 pan.

Step 6Bake in pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes or until cake tests done.

Step 7Start making icing about 5 minutes before cake is done baking.

Step 8Bring margarine, cocoa, and milk to a boil in a medium saucepan.

Step 9Remove from heat and beat in remaining ingredients.

Step 10Pour icing over hot cake.
