Ingredients
- CAKE
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 - eggs beaten
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1 package yeast (2 tbls. bulk yeast) desolved in 3 tbls. warm water
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- TOPPING
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 4 tablespoons melted butter
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup nuts or maraschino cherries,candied red or green cherries
How To Make "night before christmas" coffee cake

Step 1cream together sugar and butter

Step 2add eggs,milk,yeast(with warm water),flour,salt,and vanilla

Step 3beat all these ingredients togehter

Step 4then set dough aside, covered with damp cloth,let rise, until double in size.

Step 5when your dough has risen to double the size (this may take about 2 hours)put in 9x13-inch greased pan and spread with topping

Step 6now place in cold oven and leave it over night to rise.

Step 7the next morning turn oven on 350 degrees and bake 30 min.serve warm.

Step 9combine sugar,cinnamon,melted butter,and nuts or cherriers
