Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup warm water (110 degrees)
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 packages active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water - 110 degrees
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons dry milk powder
  • 1/4 cup instant mashed potatoes dry
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter melted and cooled
  • 2 - eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter melted and cooled

How To Make moravian sugar cake

  • Step 1
    Add yeast to warm water and sugar; set aside until yeast bubbles.
  • Step 2
    Add next 7 ingedients,plus 1 cup of the flour.
  • Step 3
    Beat 2 min.on medium speed. With wooden spoon,add 2 remaining cups of flour. Place in greased bowl; turn once to grease top of dough. Cover and let rise until double, about 1 hour
  • Step 4
    Punch dough down and put in greased shallow pan 17x12x1 inches. Let rise 30 min, spread evenly in pan; sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and cinnamon, make shallow indentations with fingers and dribble with last 1/2 cup cooled melted butter.
  • Step 5
    Let rise 30 min, then bake on 375 for 12 to 15 min till golden brown
