Growing up my mother was a single mom after my dad died when I was 10. She still made us birthday cakes and I was almost grown before I knew a bakery cake existed. She used cake mixes and jazzed them up. She is in bad health now and I offered to make her birthday cake. This is the one she chose! I hope it turns out as good as hers!!

Ingredients

1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup oil
1 package instant lemon pudding mix
4 - eggs
1 cup water
GLAZE
1 cup orange juice, not concentrated
1 cup sugar

How To Make mama's "dream cake"

Step 1

Blend all cake ingredients, then beat at medium speed for 2 minutes.

Step 2

Bake in 10" tube or bundt pan at 350 degrees for 45 to 55 minutes.
Step 3

Cool cake side up for 25 minutes.
Step 4

Prepare glaze ingredients by heating sugar and orange juice until sugar is dissolved. Pour over warm cake and finish cooling.
Step 5

Invert pan onto serving plate. It will be runny so make sure your plate has a lip because of the juice. Store in refrigerator.
