Ingredients For grandma's banana cake

1 1/2 csugar

1/2 cbutter, softened

2 lgeggs, slightly beaten

1 1/2 cflour

1/2 tspnutmeg (or mace)

1/2 tspsalt

1 tspbaking soda

3 Tbspsour milk

1 tspvanilla

1 cripe bananas, mashed
How To Make grandma's banana cake

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees; grease and flour a 9 x 11 inch cake pan.

2Cream together butter and sugar.

3Add eggs, one at a time, mixing after each egg.

4Sift together flour, nutmeg OR mace, and salt. Add to wet mixture and mix well.

5Dissolve baking soda in sour milk. (You can add a 1/4 teaspoon of white vinegar to the milk to sour it if you don't have sour milk on hand.) Add to batter.

6Mix in mashed bananas and vanilla.

7Bake in 350 degree oven in a 9 x 11 inch cake pan for 45 minutes. Frost with cream cheese frosting.
