This is an old World War I recipe. It has no sugar as it was being rationed. It's really good in a chocolate or jelly roll.

Ingredients

  • 2 - egg whites
  • 1 cup white corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

How To Make glossy frosting

  • Step 1
    Combine egg whites and corn syrup in top of double boiler. Mix well. Place over boiling water; cook, beating constantly with rotary beater until frosting holds peaks. Ready to use. Remove from heat; add vanilla and continue beating until cool. Ready to use.
