My mom use to make these for us in the 50's. So good the kids will love them.( shhh you will too) lol Enjoy!!!

Ingredients
- FILLING:
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 2 tablespoons butter room temp
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 ounces cream cheese room temp
- 1 - egg
- CAKE:
- 1 box duncan hines chocolate fudge or devils food cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup oil
- 3 - eggs
- FROSTING:
- 3 cups confectioners' sugar
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 stick butter, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- - or you can use your favorite frosting in a can

Step 1preheat oven 350, grease and flour a 9x13 pan

Step 2FILLING:

Step 3In a small bowl blend all filling ingredients; beat at highest speed until smooth and creamy. set aside

Step 4CAKE:

Step 5In a large bowl,blend cake mix,water,oil,and eggs until moistened. Beat 2 min at highest speed.Pour 1/2 of batter into pan.

Step 6Pour cream cheese mixture over batter, spreading to cover.

Step 7Pour remaining batter over cream cheese mixture.

Step 8bake at 350 45-55 min.or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. cool on rack

Step 9frost completely cool cake. store in refrigerator cut in squares

Step 10I have made these with yellow,strawberry,lemon, orange,spice and pumpkin cake mix. Very,very, good.

Step 11I put raisins in the spice cake and a little cinnamon in the cream cheese mixture in the middle. Sometime I just leave this one w/o frosting or just put a glaze over top. The Pumpkin I put raisins in the cake mix and pumpkin pie spice in the cheese mixture. You can play with this recipe in so many ways. Hope you like it,
