Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup shortening or butter
- 4 - eggs
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon each cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup nuts (optional)
- 2 cups fresh apples, chopped fine or grated
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How To Make fresh apple cake

Step 1Mix flour, salt and spices. Cream sugar and shortening. Beat eggs, add to creamed mixture; beat for 1 minute.

Step 2Mix soda with water. Add dry ingredients alternately with apples and water/soda mixture. Add vanilla. Add nuts if desired.

Step 3Pour into well greased and floured bundt pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes to 1 hour until done.
