filled cupcakes
These cupcakes are easy to make. The cream cheese center is always a surprise and easy to make changes to. In fact I made lots of changes to the recipe and it turned out great.

Ingredients
- 1 box chocolate cake
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1 - egg
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- FROSTING
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
How To Make filled cupcakes

Step 1Mix box cake according to directions. (For this recipe I substituted orange juice for the water called for in the directions).

Step 2Combine the cream cheese, egg, sugar and vanilla.

Step 3Place paper baking cups in the muffin tins. Put a small amount of batter in each cup (around 1 tablespoon), then put a good tablespoon of the cream cheese batter next. Finally fill approximately 2/3 full with chocolate batter.

Step 4Bake @ 350 degrees for approximately 15-20 minutes

Step 5While cupcakes are baking, make frosting.

Step 6Combine flour and milk. Cook until thick and cool completely. (For this recipe I substituted fresh orange juice for the milk).

Step 7When the above mixture is cool, add the butter, shortening, sugar and vanilla and mix until smooth. This step takes a while, so be patient. (For this recipe I addded 1 teaspoon of Grand Mariner for the vanilla and grated orange peel from one orange).
