deluxe mountain dew cake

Found several versions on here but none just like this one. A lady that worked for my dad in the late 70's made this all the time. She gave me the recipe in 1979. Here's to you Ms. Maxwell!!

Ingredients For deluxe mountain dew cake

  • 1 box
    orange cake mix
  • 2/3 c
    oil
  • 4
    eggs
  • 10 oz
    mountain dew
  • 1 box
    instant coconut cream pudding
  • TOPPING
  • 1 can
    crushed pineapple - small
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2 tsp
    cornstarch
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 1 1/3 c
    flaked coconut
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans

How To Make deluxe mountain dew cake

    Mix cake mix with oil, eggs, instant pudding and mountain dew.

    Pour into 13 x 9 greased and lightly floured pan

    Bake at 350 for 30 - 35 minutes.

    In a sauce pan mix pineapple, sugar, cornstarch and butter. Cook 4 minutes or until clear.

    Stir in coconut and pecans.

    Pour over hot cake. Let cool and serve.
