    each baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp
    each ground cloves, and nutmeg
  • 1/2 c
    butter room temp.
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    vanilla
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/2 c
    buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 c
    cinnamon applesauce
  • frosting
  • 24 oz
    cream cheese softened
  • 3/4 c
    butter room temp
  • 3/4 c
    sweetened cream of coconut
  • 11/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 3 c
    powdered sugar
  • filling

    butter room temp
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar

    granny smith apples peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1/4 tsp
    cinnamon
  • pecans

  • 1 c
    pecans chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1/8 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • salted caramel sauce
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 c
    water
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter room temp
  • 1/2 c
    heavy cream
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt

How To Make decadent salted caramel apple spice cake

    Preheat oven 350 degrees. To make the cake. Mix all dry ingredients together set aside. Mix the butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, buttermilk, and applesauce together. add the dry ingredients and mix. Well. Divide among three round greased pans. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Let cool completely

    For the apple filling. Melt butter in large pan over med high heat. Add apples sugar and cinnamon. cook about 20 minutes. Cool to room temp.

    Frosting Beat cream cheese and butter together. Add the cream of coconut and vanilla. Mix well. Add powdered sugar and refrigerate at least 15 munutes

    For the pecans. Melt butter in saucepan. Add pecan and saute 1 minute. Add sugar and cinnamon. Cook stirring constantly 3 minutes. Remove from heat and spread on wax paper.

    For the caramel sauce. Stir sugar and water together over medium high heat until sugar dissolves. Turn heat to high and let cook undisturbed until amber color about 7 minutes. Remove from heat whisk in butter slowly add the cream whisking to blend. Whisk in vanilla and salt

    To assemble cake. Place 1 layer of cake on platter. spread 3/4 cup frosting on layer. Spoon 1/2 the apple mixture over. Top with next cake layer and repeat. Finish with last layer and frost cake. Drizzle caramel over top and top with pecans
