This frosting is more like a glaze. It is fudgey and delicious. Pour over your favorite chocolate cake or brownies.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces good quality dark chocolate
  • 1/2 stick butter cut into pieces
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup red wine such as pinot noir

How To Make dark chocolate red wine frosting.

  • Step 1
    Melt the chocolate with butter in a bowl over boiling water on stove top without letting the bowl touch the water.
  • Step 2
    Add wine to separate pan and boil 3 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Remove chocolate mix from heat and whisk in wine, salt and powdered sugar. Let cool and pour over cake
