Ingredients
- CAKE BATTER
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup water
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- FROSTING
- 1 stick butter
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 6 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 16 ounces powdered sugar
- 1 cup nuts (optional)
How To Make chocolate sheet cake

Step 1Mix first five ingredients in a large mixing bowl.

Step 2In 2 qt sauce pan, combine water, cocoa, butter and shortening. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.

Step 3Pour hot chocolate mixture over dry ingredients and blend. Add buttermilk, eggs, vanilla, and blend.

Step 4Bake at 400 for 20 minutes in greased 11x16 pan.

Step 5FROSTING: Frost while cake is still hot. -Boil butter, cocoa, and milk in a sauce pan. -Remove from heat, add vanilla and powdered sugar. Blend. -Stir in nuts (optional).
