chocolate peanut butter cake

Found this recipe on the back of a Hershey's cocoa can have changed it a little by adding peanut butter to it but still the best chocolate cake I ever made.This recipe is over 20 years old . My family loves it thought I would share.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 13/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup hershey's cocoa (unsweetened)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER FROSTING
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 2/3 cup hershey's cocoa (unsweetened)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How To Make chocolate peanut butter cake

  • Step 1
    heat oven to 350 degrees. grease and flour pan or pans. I use a 9x13 pan.
  • Step 2
    combine dry ingredience in large bowl. Add eggs, milk,peanut butter, and vanilla.Beat on medium speed 2 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Stir in boiling water( batter will be thin)pour into pan or pans bake 35 -40 minutes
  • Step 4
    cool on wire racks( if using 2 round pans remove from pans) before cooling.
  • Step 5
    Cool completely frost with chocolate peanut butter frosting.
