Found this recipe on the back of a Hershey's cocoa can have changed it a little by adding peanut butter to it but still the best chocolate cake I ever made.This recipe is over 20 years old . My family loves it thought I would share.

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 13/4 c
    flour
  • 3/4 c
    hershey's cocoa (unsweetened)
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 2 large
    eggs
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1/2 c
    peanut butter
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 c
    boiling water
  • CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER FROSTING

  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • 1/4 c
    peanut butter
  • 2/3 c
    hershey's cocoa (unsweetened)
  • 3 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1/3 c
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract

How to Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. heat oven to 350 degrees. grease and flour pan or pans. I use a 9x13 pan.
  2. combine dry ingredience in large bowl. Add eggs, milk,peanut butter, and vanilla.Beat on medium speed 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in boiling water( batter will be thin)pour into pan or pans bake 35 -40 minutes
  4. cool on wire racks( if using 2 round pans remove from pans) before cooling.
  5. Cool completely frost with chocolate peanut butter frosting.
