chocolate ice box cake ( 6 layers )
I made this for our Labor Day Cook Out. Almost didn't get a picture as this is the last piece. Needles to say it went over big. I think my next try will be with peach's. I think I'm in love with these Ice Box Cakes. My family and friends love them too. They are so easy to make. NOTE: You can use Short Bread Cookies, Sugar Cookies, or Chocolate Chip if you don't want to bake. Just make sure you let it set over night.

- CAKE
- 1 box yellow cake mix ( chocolate )i like duncan hines
- 3 medium eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- ICING
- 12 ounces cream cheese ( room temp. )
- 1 stick butter ( room temp. )
- 1 1/2 cups powder sugar
- 6 tablespoons cocoa
- 3 cups heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
How To Make chocolate ice box cake ( 6 layers )

Step 12 8 or 9 in" cake pans. Grease and flour pans.

Step 2Preheat oven on 350 degrees

Step 3Mix cake with all ingredients. Pour into cake pans.

Step 4Bake for 20 or 25 min. Or until done.

Step 5While cake bakes, in large bowl mix cream cheese, butter, cocoa, powder sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla until thick and you have stiff peaks.

Step 6When cakes are cooled, cut each layer into 3 thin layers.

Step 7Put your first cake layer on cake plate, then spread on a layer of icing, using equal amounts of icing on each layer. End with icing on top, cover and refrigerate 8 hrs. Or overnight.
