This was my brothers FAVORITE cake and he got it from my mom EVERY birthday of his life till he was 18, then only on special occasions. I loved the icing..I used to peel it off and leave the cake...now I eat the cake and leave the icing...LOL..ENJOY!!!!

Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup water
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 - egg beaten
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract ( real)
- ICING
- 1 stick butter
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 6 tablespoons milk
- 1 - "box" powdered sugar, 1 use 2 cups adjust to your liking
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chopped nuts,( whatever you like) i don't use these
How To Make chocolate cake baked on a cookie sheet

Step 1Sift together the sugar and flour. In a saucepan, bring to a boil the shortening, butter, water, and cocoa powder.

Step 2Pour over flour mixture while still hot. Add the buttermilk, beaten eggs, soda and vanilla.

Step 3Bake in a large cookie sheet with sides or 2 8x8 inch cake pans (its really better baked on a cookie sheet) Bake at 375" 15 to 20 minutes. While cake is baking make icing.

Step 4Icing Bring to a boil the butter, coca and milk, add the powdered sugar, vanilla and nuts if your using. Spread over the cake while BOTH are hot....

Step 5Cut yourself 4 pieces and hide in back of fridge...LOL
