cherry oh cherry bars
I saw these on Facebook this evening and liked the recipe so much, I wanted to share it with all of you. From my own point of view, a teaspoon of salt as part of the bar ingredients sounds excessive. I think I would add no more than a half-teaspoon, but it's totally up to you.

- INGREDIENTS FOR BARS
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cans cherry pie filling
- INGREDIENTS FOR GLAZE
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
How To Make cherry oh cherry bars

Step 1Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2With a hand-held mixer or the wire whisk of yoru stand mixer, cream the butter and sugar until smooth.

Step 3Add the eggs and vanilla; beat well.

Step 4Slowly add the flour and salt; mix well.

Step 5Spread approximately three cups of the batter in a greased 9x13 pan (use a bigger pan if you wants the bars to be thinner).

Step 6Spread the pie filling over the batter.

Step 7Drop tablespoons of batter randomly over the pie filling.

Step 8Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.
