I saw these on Facebook this evening and liked the recipe so much, I wanted to share it with all of you.

From my own point of view, a teaspoon of salt as part of the bar ingredients sounds excessive. I think I would add no more than a half-teaspoon, but it's totally up to you.

Ingredients

INGREDIENTS FOR BARS

1 c
butter, softened
2 c
granulated sugar

eggs
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1/4 tsp
almond extract
3 c
all-purpose flour
1 tsp
salt
2 can(s)
cherry pie filling

INGREDIENTS FOR GLAZE

1 c
powdered sugar
1/2 tsp
vanilla extract
1/2 tsp
almond extract
2 Tbsp
milk

How to Make Cherry Oh Cherry Bars

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • 2With a hand-held mixer or the wire whisk of yoru stand mixer, cream the butter and sugar until smooth.
  • 3Add the eggs and vanilla; beat well.
  • 4Slowly add the flour and salt; mix well.
  • 5Spread approximately three cups of the batter in a greased 9x13 pan (use a bigger pan if you wants the bars to be thinner).
  • 6Spread the pie filling over the batter.
  • 7Drop tablespoons of batter randomly over the pie filling.
  • 8Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.
