This icing is the perfect match for blackberry cake.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 5 cups sifted confectioners sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

How To Make carmel icing

  • Step 1
    Melt butter, add brown sugar, salt, in sauce pan. Stir (not to boiling point) 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in milk.
  • Step 2
    Return to heat and stir until mixture comes to a good boil. Remove from heat. Blend in confectioners sugar.
  • Step 3
    Add vanilla, milk can be added to thin.
