Very old family recipe. So good. Not to sweet,for just a warm snack or great with coffee. I love to have it warm in the morning with my coffee.

Ingredients For blueberry buckle

  • BOTTOM
  • 1/2 c
    shortening
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1
    egg well beaten
  • 2 c
    flour sifted
  • 2 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 2 c
    blueberries
  • TOP
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    flour sifted
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/4 c
    butter or margarine

How To Make blueberry buckle

  • 1
    bake on 350. grease 11 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 1 1/2 inch pan
  • 2
    thoroughly cream shortening and 1/2 cup sugar; add egg and mix well.

    sift 2 cups flour,baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk.

    Pour into well greased pan. Sprinkle blueberries over batter.

    Combine 1/2 cup sugar,1/2 cup flour, cinnamon,and butter till crumbly; sprinkle over blueberries

    Bake 45 to 50 min, cut into squares,serve warm
