I have spent the last 18 years of my life working for a non-profit. One of the things that this typically means -- there were a lot of potlucks. Or shared lunches. Or what-have-you. At one, a volunteer showed up with cookies. "These are FABULOUS! I must have this recipe!" And he obliged by bringing it in. Without a name, lol. "What're they called?" I ask. "I don't know", he said with a shrug, then pulled out his paintbrush and off he went. They taste like windmill cookies to me, the couple was Dutch, so that's what I'm calling them!
