I made these for my (now-ex) boyfriend and he was in HEAVEN with them. ACtually asked me recently, in these words..."I know I don't deserve it, but maybe you could make me those pecan bars you made that time, maybe for my birthday next month???" HAHAHA!!!
I got this recipe from A Taste of Home's Comfort Food Diet magazine, but I tweaked it a bit to make it even more low-cal when I made it. I'll mention both.

How to Make Unbelievable Low(ish)-Cal Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars
- In a small bowl, combine the flour and brown sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. Press into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Meanwhile, in a large bowl, whisk the eggs, sugar, corn syrup, butter and vanilla until blended. Stir in chocolate chunks and pecans. Pour over crust.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until set. Cool completely on a wire rack. Cut into bars. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- Yield: about 3 dozen.
Nutritional Analysis (Based on cutting into 3 dozen bars): 1 bar equals 176 calories, 5 g fat (2 g saturated fat), 13 mg cholesterol, 25 mg sodium, 11 g carbohydrate, 1 g fiber, 1 g protein. - If you are less concerned with the calories, I found a similar recipe that added a chocolate drizzle to the bars. These are the ingredients and instructions, although that recipe says it yeilds 4 dozen so you may end up having some extra chocolate. Which, to me, would not be considered a problem! haha Save it and warm up to drizzle over ice cream, or dip fruit, pretzels, nuts..whatever!...into it!
DRIZZLE/GLAZE:
•4 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
•1-1/4 teaspoons shortening
In a microwave, melt chocolate and shortening; stir until smooth. Drizzle over bars.
