You can frost these brownies if you like but they are great without frosting too.

  • 3/4 Cup c
    baking cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soada
  • 2/3 c
    butter, melted and divided in half
  • 1/2 c
    boiling water
  • 2 c
  • 2 large
  • 1 1/3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 1 c
    semi-sweet chocolate chips

How to Make Ultimate Chocolate Brownies


  1. Grease 13" x 9" pan. In medium bowl combine cocoa and baking soda. Blend in 1/3 cup melted butter. Add boiling water; stir until mixture thickens. It thickens quickly. Stir in sugar, eggs and remaining 1/3 cup melted butter; stir until smooth.
  2. Add flour, vanilla and salt; blend completely. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour into pan.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or 30 to 35 minutes in 2 8" x 8" pans. Cool. Frost if desired.
