My church friend Pat brought these to a Holiday Cookie Exchange. Definitely a keeper and it's easy too!

Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 6 - hershey milk chocolate bars
- 1/2-1 cup finely chopped walnuts(or pecans), as much as you like
How To Make toffee bars

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cream together the butter and sugar. Stir in the egg and vanilla. Spread this dough into a large jelly roll pan. Bake for about 15 minutes until the top is slightly brown.

Step 2Remove from the oven and immediately arrange the Hershey bars on top. As the chocolate melts, spread it to cover the bottom layer completely. Sprinkle with nut to cover, press these gently into the chocolate with a spatula.

Step 3Let cool completely before slicing into bars.
