the chewy oatmeal raisin cookie
This came from a magazine many years ago, and the folks at Crisco must have sponsored it because there is a pict of the crisco tub on the recipie. At the bottom of the recipie it says from the Silver Palate Cookbook. These also are a softer cookie.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter flavored crisco
- 1 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 cups quaker quick oats, not instant or old fashioned
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup chopped walnuts, optional
How To Make the chewy oatmeal raisin cookie

Step 1Preheat oven to 375°

Step 2Spray baking sheet with non stick spray.

Step 3Cream together the Butter Flavor Crisco, brown sugar, egg, milk and vanilla in a large bowl.Beat at med speed until well blended.

Step 4Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt together.

Step 5Combine oats, flour mixture and cinnamon.

Step 6Stir in raisins, and nuts if using them.

Step 7Mix into creamed mixture at low speed just until blended.

Step 8Drop by rounded tablespoons onto greased baking sheet and bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until lightly browned.
