sweet - n tart oatmeal cookies

I decided to use up my dried cherries I had left-over that I usually put in my oatmeal and it always tasted great. So I figured why not use them in oatmeal cookies? They are sweet and tart and so yummy with a tall glass of milk.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup dried tart cherries
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1-3/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups rolled oats, i used quick-cooking oats, but you can use old-fashioned oats.

How To Make sweet - n tart oatmeal cookies

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 375. Place parchment paper on cookie sheets. In lg bowl, beat butter on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add brown sugar, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. Beat well.
  • Step 2
    Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined. Beat in flour. Stir in oats, dried cherries and walnuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls, rounded, and 2" apart onto parchment paper.
  • Step 3
    Bake 8-10 mins, or until golden around edges.
