Many years ago, my neighbor used to bring a tray of cookies to our house for the holidays. They were all so delicious and she was happy to share her recipes with me. This is a very delicate and delicious cookie and I remember Bridget whenever I make them.

Ingredients

1 pound butter, softened
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
5 cups flour
2 - eggs

How To Make swedish butter cookies

Step 1

Prepare cookie dough by kneading all ingredients together until you can roll out the dough. Roll the dough about 1/4" thick and cut with a cookie cutter. Bake in a preheated 350 oven for 7-10 minutes depending on your oven.

Step 2

Note: This can be made into a drop cookie as well. Melted chocolate chips can be drizzled over the cookies when cool but not necessary, but certainly delicious.
