  • 1 c
    unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 c
    canola oil (or vegetable oil)
  • 1 c
    white sugar
  • 1 c
    confectioners' sugar
  • 2 large
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 4 1/2 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    cream of tartar

How to Make Super Simple Amish Sugar Cookies


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
    In the bowl of a mixer, add the butter, oil, and two sugars, and beat until creamed.
  2. Add in the eggs and blend well. Add the vanilla extract and blend well.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar, and mix well. Add this gradually to the creamed mixture and blend until all combined.
  4. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls (they will be on the smaller side) onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until lightly browned - approximately 8-10 min. depending on your oven. Cool finished cookies on wire racks. Enjoy!
