powdered sugar, sifted
2 Tbsp
butter, melted
2 tsp
vanilla extract
1 tsp
lemon extract
1 c
vegetable oil
4 c
all-purpose flour
1 tsp
baking soda
1/4 tsp
1 tsp
cream of tartar
1/2 c
1/2 tsp
ground cinnamon

How to Make Sugar Cookies


  • 1Combine the first 6 ingredients; beat well at medium speed of an electric mixer. Add the oil, beating well.
  • 2Combine the flour, soda, salt, and cream of tartar, stirring well. Gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  • 3Combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls; roll in the sugar mixture. Place the balls 3 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Dip a flat-bottomed glass in the sugar mixture; flatten the balls to 1/4-inch thickness. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes. Let cool on wire racks.
