Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
- 4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
- 1/4 cup orange liqueur
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 15 ounces can of mandarin oranges, chopped and well drained
- 1 cup walnut pieces

Step 1Drain the Mandarin oranges. Chop them and drain again.

Step 2Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together the butter, cream cheese, both sugars, the orange liqueur, and the egg in a large mixing bowl.

Step 3In a separate bowl, sift together the salt, baking soda, baking powder, and flour. To this dry mix, add the Ginger and Cinnamon.

Step 4Gradually blend the dry mixture into the creamed mixture. Fold in the Mandarin oranges and the walnut pieces.

Step 5Drop by teaspoons onto parchment lined cookie sheets. Do not crowd them. Bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for 15 to 18 minutes. Remove cookies to rack for cooling.
