Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 15 ounces can of mandarin oranges, chopped and well drained
  • 1 cup walnut pieces

How To Make spiced mandarin orange cream cheese cookies

  • Step 1
    Drain the Mandarin oranges. Chop them and drain again.
  • Step 2
    Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together the butter, cream cheese, both sugars, the orange liqueur, and the egg in a large mixing bowl.
  • Step 3
    In a separate bowl, sift together the salt, baking soda, baking powder, and flour. To this dry mix, add the Ginger and Cinnamon.
  • Step 4
    Gradually blend the dry mixture into the creamed mixture. Fold in the Mandarin oranges and the walnut pieces.
  • Step 5
    Drop by teaspoons onto parchment lined cookie sheets. Do not crowd them. Bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for 15 to 18 minutes. Remove cookies to rack for cooling.
