soft and chewy peanut butter cookies!

Who doesn't love a nice soft, chewy peanut butter cookie. I used my Grandmother's recipe for years but they were always dry and not chewy at all. So I started researching and reading other recipes and this is what I came up with. Just as good if not better than bakery peanut butter cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

How To Make soft and chewy peanut butter cookies!

  • Step 1
    Cream butter and peanut butter together. Mix in sugars and beat until fluffy. Add egg, milk and vanilla, mix well. Stir in flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt until just blended (do not over mix).
  • Step 2
    Roll into balls then roll in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and flatten with a fork or a flat bottomed glass. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
