I just love snickerdoodles. Even want to eat them warm, fresh from the oven (okay, it is very difficult to not let them cool off!). Here is a recipe that sounded easy enough to make...since I have yet to find one I want to use all the time.

  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 2 c
  • 2 large
  • 1/4 c
  • 1 tsp
  • 3 3/4 c
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 2 tsp
  • 3 Tbsp
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp

How to Make Snickerdoodles

  1. Oven to 375 degrees. Beat butter with mixer until creamy. Gradually add 2 c sugar and beat well. Add eggs, milk and vanilla, beat well.
  2. Combine flour, powder and 2 t cinnamon, then gradually add to butter mixture on low speed JUST until blended. You can store this in an airtight container up to 1 week in the fridge if you desire.
  3. Combine 3 T sugar and 1 1/2 T cinnamon in small bowl. Roll dough into 1 1/4 inch balls and roll in sugar mixture. Place on ungreased cookie sheets and flatten slightly (The bottom of a glass works well for this).
  4. Bake 11-13 min or until lightly browned. Cool on cookie sheets 5 min, then remove to cool completely.
