Ingredients

1 1/2 c
flour
1/2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
cream of tartar
1 c
sugar
1/2 c
butter, softened
1 tsp
vanilla
1
egg
1/4 c
sugar
2 tsp
cinnamon

How to Make Snickerdoodles

Step-by-Step

  • 1Combine 1 cup sugar and butter and beat until well blended.
  • 2Add the egg and vanilla; mix well.
  • 3Add flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Blend until combined.
  • 4Cover and chill 10 minutes.
  • 5Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • 6Combine 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  • 7Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • 8Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll balls in cinnamon sugar. Place on cookie sheet.
  • 9Flatten balls with bottom of a glass. If glass becomes too sticky dip in cinnamon sugar first.
  • 10Bake for 10 minutes. Let cool for 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.
  • 11Enjoy!!
