Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 - egg
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

How To Make snickerdoodles

  • Step 1
    Combine 1 cup sugar and butter and beat until well blended.
  • Step 2
    Add the egg and vanilla; mix well.
  • Step 3
    Add flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Blend until combined.
  • Step 4
    Cover and chill 10 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Step 6
    Combine 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  • Step 7
    Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • Step 8
    Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll balls in cinnamon sugar. Place on cookie sheet.
  • Step 9
    Flatten balls with bottom of a glass. If glass becomes too sticky dip in cinnamon sugar first.
  • Step 10
    Bake for 10 minutes. Let cool for 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.
  • Step 11
    Enjoy!!
