Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- SIFT TOGETHER:
- 1 1/2 cups sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS:
- 3 cups oatmeal
- 2 cups chocolate chips (can use raisins)
- 2 cups coconut
How To Make sharon's oatmeal cookies (with coconut)

Step 1Cream shortening and sugars, add eggs, water and vanilla.

Step 2Add sifted dry ingredients and mix well. Then add oatmeal, chocolate chips (or raisins) and coconut.

Step 3Roll into balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes at 375 degrees. (If you prefer chewy cookies, bake for a shorter time)
