Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- TOPPING:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons butter..melted
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Step 1In a large saucepan,combine sugar & next 7 ingredients. Bring to a boil; boil gently 3 minutes.Cool Add remaining ingredients(except topping) Blend well.

Step 2Spread batter evenly in a greased 15"x10"pan.

Step 3Combine Toppings; spread evenly over batter.Press down lightly.

Step 4Bake 350 degrees...20-25 minutes; Cool;Cut into bars.

Step 5May also be served warm with ice cream.
