These disappear so fast, that with 4 children and 2 adults that this cookie was the favorite of, I made 3-4 batches at a time. I made them every Christmas for many many years.

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    confectioners sugar
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 3/4 c
    finely chopped pecans
  • ABSOLUTELY MELT IN YOUR MOUTH DELECTABLE CHRISTMAS COOKIES!

How to Make Russian Teacakes

Step-by-Step

  1. Allow butter to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes or so to soften for easier mixing.
  2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  3. Mix thoroughly; butter, sugar, and vanilla. Work in flour, salt and nuts until dough holds together. Shape dough into 1 inch balls.
  4. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until set but not brown. While warm , roll in confectioners sugar. Cool.
  5. Roll in confectioners sugar again. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
