These disappear so fast, that with 4 children and 2 adults that this cookie was the favorite of, I made 3-4 batches at a time. I made them every Christmas for many many years.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup confectioners sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped pecans
  • ABSOLUTELY MELT IN YOUR MOUTH DELECTABLE CHRISTMAS COOKIES!

How To Make russian teacakes

  • Step 1
    Allow butter to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes or so to soften for easier mixing.
  • Step 2
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Step 3
    Mix thoroughly; butter, sugar, and vanilla. Work in flour, salt and nuts until dough holds together. Shape dough into 1 inch balls.
  • Step 4
    Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until set but not brown. While warm , roll in confectioners sugar. Cool.
  • Step 5
    Roll in confectioners sugar again. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
