  • 4 - Pasteurized egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon Clear extract of choice (like almond, vanilla or lemon)
  • 4 cups Sifted powdered sugar

How To Make royal icing recipe

  • Mixer, sifter and ingredients needed for royal icing
    Step 1
    Gather supplies.
  • Sifting sugar into metal bowl
    Step 2
    Sift 4 cups of powdered sugar.
  • whites and yolks from 4 eggs in bowl
    Step 3
    Separate whites and yolks from 4 eggs.
  • Adding extract into mixing bowl with egg whites
    Step 4
    Pour egg whites into mixing bowl and add extract
  • Egg whites and extract mixed together until frothy
    Step 5
    Mix on medium for a few minutes until egg whites are frothy.
  • Adding powdered sugar to red KitchenAid mixer
    Step 6
    On medium speed, mix half the powdered sugar.
  • Spatula scraping down edges in mixing bowl
    Step 7
    Scrape down edges.
