petite parisiennes
My mom used to make these little meringue cookies for Christmas every year. I had lost the recipe, but found it at my daughter's house. Yay! The original version uses brown paper bags to cover the cookie tins instead of parchment. Your choice!

Ingredients
- 2 egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tarter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (or grated chocolate)
- 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts
How To Make petite parisiennes

Step 1Beat egg whites until foamy. Add salt and cream of tartar. Beat until stiff peaks form.

Step 2Add sugar gradually and continue beating until VERY stiff peaks form. Add vanilla, fold in chocolate and nuts.

Step 3Drop by spoonfuls onto parchment lined cookie sheets. Bake 300º F for 20 minutes. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
