My mom used to make these little meringue cookies for Christmas every year. I had lost the recipe, but found it at my daughter's house. Yay! The original version uses brown paper bags to cover the cookie tins instead of parchment. Your choice!

Ingredients

  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tarter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (or grated chocolate)
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts

How To Make petite parisiennes

  • Step 1
    Beat egg whites until foamy. Add salt and cream of tartar. Beat until stiff peaks form.
  • Step 2
    Add sugar gradually and continue beating until VERY stiff peaks form. Add vanilla, fold in chocolate and nuts.
  • Step 3
    Drop by spoonfuls onto parchment lined cookie sheets. Bake 300º F for 20 minutes. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
