peppermint patties
These taste almost identical to York Peppermint Patties! You can make into any shape, using whatever cookie cutter shapes you have. This recipe is from a friend of mine.

Ingredients
- 2 cups icing sugar (and a little extra for dusting purposes)
- 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 1 1/2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons milk
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 8 ounces semi sweet chocolate
- 2 teaspoons shortening
How To Make peppermint patties

Step 1Mix the first five ingredients until smooth. You may need to add a few more drops of milk. Chill for 30 minutes.

Step 2Dust with a little icing sugar and roll out until 1/4 inch thick. Cut into small stars and freeze until hard.

Step 3Melt the chocolate with 2 tsp shortening, in microwave, and let it cool to room temperature. Dip stars into chocolate and chill until set.
