peanut butter cookies

This recipe is a family favorite. I made it again tonight and they are half gone already. Wonderful flavor, stay chewy and we love them. They came from a 1934 cook book published by The Federated Farm Women's Clubs of Sandusky and Seneca Counties Ohio.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup lard
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 3 cups flour

How To Make peanut butter cookies

  • Step 1
    Add all ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix to bind well. About 20 Seconds.
  • Step 2
    Then shape into walnut sized balls putting on cookie sheet. Press with a fork dipped in sugar making a cross hatch pattern on cookie. Preheat Oven to 350 degrees and cook between 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly brown.
