This recipe is a family favorite. I made it again tonight and they are half gone already. Wonderful flavor, stay chewy and we love them. They came from a 1934 cook book published by The Federated Farm Women's Clubs of Sandusky and Seneca Counties Ohio.

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    lard
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 c
    white sugar
  • 1 c
    peanut butter
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 3 c
    flour

How to Make Peanut Butter Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Add all ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix to bind well. About 20 Seconds.
  2. Then shape into walnut sized balls putting on cookie sheet. Press with a fork dipped in sugar making a cross hatch pattern on cookie. Preheat Oven to 350 degrees and cook between 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly brown.
