Ingredients

  • 1 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 c
    white sugar (or trivia)
  • 1 c
    butter, unsalted
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 c
    oatmeal, uncooked
  • 1 c
    coconut flakes
  • 1 c
    chopped pecan (or almonds sliced.)
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 2 1/4 c
    of all purpose flour( king arthur,or gold medal)
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanilla extrcat

How to Make Old time coconut oatmeal cranraisns cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. (1) PREHEAT oven to 350*
  2. MIX sugars,butter ,eggs and vanilla.
    Mix all dry ingredients together,then ADD to the first mixture.
  3. ADD oats,coconut and nuts,and cranrains to last mixture.
  4. ROLL: into balls sized of a walnut,and flatten.
    BAKE @350* on an ungreased cookie sheet for 8 to 10 minutes.
  5. TIPS: MAKE SURE NOT TO OVERCOOK IT.
    ALSO you can make the cookie dough ahead of time and wrap in plastic wrap just roll the dough into a log. and tie the ends together .and freeze it ,until you are ready to bake .
  6. Have your grandchildren help make them .HAVE them ADD all the goodies they love doing and they learn at the same time.LOVE GRAMM'S M .MAXEY ALSO KNOWN as Happycook diva.
  7. THE grandchildren can exchange cookies and share with school class or just make a gift basket and take to a local nursing home.PUT a smile on someone else face.
