Ingredients
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 - egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon allspice, ground
- 1 1/4 cups quick cooking rolled oats
- 1/2 cup raisin
How To Make oatmeal cookies

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2Grease cookie sheet.

Step 3With wooden spoon, cream together shortening, sugar, and brown sugar.

Step 4Add egg, milk, and vanilla.

Step 5Mix well.

Step 6In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice.

Step 7Stir spice into creamed mixture. (To measure 1/8 tsp., measure 1/4 tsp. and with narrow spatula push half off.)

Step 8Add oats and raisins.

Step 9Mix well.

Step 10Drop rounded teaspoosfuls onto greased cookie sheet.

Step 11Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden brown.

Step 12Use wide spatula to remove cookies from cookie sheet.

Step 13Cool on cooling rack.
