I tried these cookies some time ago when a friend of mine who is Native American made them for one of the Pow-Wows that we put together. They were awesome. I finally got the recipe from her and was shocked with one of the ingredients. I made them for my dad and now every year he calls me up and ask me for the recipe so he can make them for his friends.
Cream lard and add sugar. Cream well. Beat in egg. Add rose' wine. Mix in 4 cups of flour, adding more until the dough is able to be rolled out.
Cut in circles or shapes, sprinkle tops with mixture of cinnamon and sugar.
Bake until lightly browned. About 10 - 12 minutes depending on your oven
Last Step: Don't forget to share!
