This is a no-bake recipe from the "Cafeteria Lady" when I was in elementary and high school. There was a lot of lunch room bargaining and trading to get an extra one in those days! AND you will want a big glass of milk, cuz you will be eating more than one! :)

prep time 10 Min
cook time 20 Min
method Stove Top
yield 48 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 5 cups rolled oats

How To Make mrs. lloyd's peanut butter goodies

  • Step 1
Bring butter, sugar, milk and salt to a boil. Boil 10 minutes (VERY important to follow this!).
  • Step 2
Add peanut butter, vanilla and oats.
  • Step 3
Spread on cookie sheet and cool. Cut into squares.
  • Step 4
I use a jelly roll pan and make 1"x1" squares, as these tend to be rich, but SO good.
